Policies and Procedures

It is my intention at Mending Muscles Massage Therapy LLC to provide each client with a therapeutic and relaxing massage in a safe and friendly environment. The following policies and procedures are to serve as a guide for new and returning clients.

Arrival to Your Massage

Please arrive for your appointment 10 minutes before your scheduled time to allow for the intake and interview process. This will also allow for time to dress down and prepare for your massage.

Cancellation Policy

Your therapy time is reserved especially for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice so someone else has the opportunity to fill that spot. Any appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to a $25 cancellation fee.

No Show Policy

If you miss your appointment you will be responsible for the full amount of the session. A credit card or gift certificate is required to guarantee an appointment. No charges will be made unless there is a cancellation or no show. Upon check out, you may specify which type of payment you would like to use.

Late Arrival Policy

If you are late to your appointment, your massage will be for the remainder of the allotted time. You will be responsible for the full price of treatment.

Scope of Practice

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and held to the highest standards by Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP). I do not diagnose or prescribe medications for any medical conditions and may refer you to a medical professional if deemed necessary. I provide therapeutic massage, not intended to replace proper medical attention.

Respect for Clients Needs and Boundaries

If at any time during your massage you would like adjustments made to pressure, temperature, music volume, technique, would like more time spent on a specific area, or for me to move on from an area, I am happy to make such adjustments.

It is up to you as to how much clothing you leave on. You will always be modestly draped and only the area being massaged will be undraped. If at any point you are not comfortable with anything, you are encouraged to speak up so we can make necessary changes to ensure your boundaries are being respected. It is your right to refuse any massage methods or end your session at any time.

Sexual behavior of ANY kind between therapist and client is STRICTLY prohibited and will be cause for immediate termination of session. Payment will be expected for the full price of the session.

Confidentiality and Conversation

All sessions are confidential. I will not discuss your treatment with anyone unless given permission by you.

In order to provide the highest quality of care, I will not initiate unnecessary conversation. This is your time to relax, not keep up with small talk. The conversation is guided by you.

Existing and New Medical Conditions

It is your responsibility to inform me of any medical conditions you may have and any treatments you are undergoing. You agree to provide written permission from your physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, etc., that massage may be continued, if deemed necessary by me.

If you are receiving chemotherapy and/or radiation you will be required to provide a doctor’s note that states the doctor knows you are receiving massage and approves of massage treatment.
